A very touching read - I am sorry for your father's passing but glad he left you with many good memories. While I didn't adopt my father's taste in movies (thankfully :) ), I recently became a father myself and look forward to sharing many hours watching films with my own son. If I can make half the impression on him that your father made on you, then I can leave this world happy.

First of all, I'm sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I lost my day 14 years ago when he was 62. He also shaped my love for movies. We did not usually share mainstream films together, but he is the reason I watched foreign and independent films at an young age. My twisted sense of humor, (which has been passed down to my daughter) is all a credit to him. So a toast to dads and the great things they continue to do for us. I know for me, to this day, I walk out of a theater and think, "Hey, Dad would have liked that one."
