As I have said in my previous post, this has been a great week for movie trailers. Today it was the trailer for …
RIDLEY SCOTT’S PROMETHEUS!
… which is scheduled for release in June, 2012.
Synposis (courtesy of 20th Century Fox):
Ridley Scott, director of Alien and Blade Runner, returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
The Prometheus team have really upped the ante – we were treated to three official teasers to the official trailer, which can be seen here:
To paraphrase Ridley Scott, it is going to be epic!
As always, feel free to post reactions below. Visit the official Prometheus Facebook Page to see what others are saying.

Cool beans! Wow, this week has been blockbuster trailer week, TDKR, Hobbit and now this. Great cast this one, and I love Ridley’s work.

A lot to get excited about! And I still have a few more to see in 2011!

Hi, iluv and company:
Am I the only one who thinks the ‘Prometheus’ trailer looks like an ‘Inception’ take on a game of Halo?
Intriguing, nonetheless.
PS: I have a guest Top Ten List at Scott’s FRC that should be of interest. All are invited.

Will be sure to check it out!
As for Prometheus Trailer, I have heard some compare it to Inception. As for the Halo reference, I do not know much about Halo, except that folks are addicted to playing. But I can assume by the reference that it has some sci-fi elements to it (?)

This cast is unbelievable. Ridley Scott + this über-cast should equal an amazing flic. I’m geeked for this. And unlike Dark Knight Rising, this is a much tighter trailer.
iluvcinema says
Definitely much tighter and agree about the cast … especially happy to see Guy Pearce in the credits. He dropped off for a minute.
