Coming Soon: Act of Valor

After watching the Super Bowl trailer for Act of Valor (see below), my interest in the film heightened.  This looks like an interesting story whose players are real life heroes long due their recognition.

An unprecedented blend of real-life heroism and original filmmaking, Act of Valor stars a group of active-duty U.S. Navy SEALs in a film like no other in Hollywood’s history.  A fictionalized account of real life Navy SEAL operations, Act of Valor features a gripping story that takes audiences on an adrenaline-fueled, edge-of-their-seat journey.

When a mission to recover a kidnapped CIA operative unexpectedly results in the discovery of an imminent, terrifying global threat, an elite team of highly trained Navy SEALs must immediately embark on a heart-stopping secret operation, the outcome of which will determine the fate of us all.

Act of Valor combines stunning combat sequences, up-to-the-minute battlefield technology, and heart-pumping emotion for the ultimate action adventure film–showcasing the skills, training and tenacity of the greatest action heroes of them all: real Navy SEALs.

Act of Valor is scheduled for release February 24th, 2012.

  1. Act of Valor couldn’t be anymore ME at all!! I love this type of film, and from the trailer it looks pretty good…

    Oooh Rahh!!

  2. I personally hate that this is getting made. It looks like Call of Duty: The Movie. If this is successful we’ll see a lot more movies like this and that is a terrible thought. Sorry to sound like a debbie downer.

    • Hey Max, no Debbie Downer about it. Your concerns about inferior-quality derivatives being is reasonable enough.

Aside from The Sims, I am not a gamer and have no idea what Call of Duty looks like or specifically is about.

  3. I’m always in gung-ho military film so this is definitely high on my must-see list although it certainly could wait for a rental. The fact that many of the characters are played by real Navy Seals is huge though because my main complaint with war movies is how inaccurate they are.

  4. i agree! the trailer sleighed me! i am interested to see this.
