  1. Hi, Iluv:

Very good selection of films to choose from.

When it comes to polls, I am sometimes a non conformist and opt for “Other”. As I’ve done here. With John Sayle’s ‘Eight Men Out’ in a nicely detailed period piece about the White Sox scandal of 1919.

With ‘It Happens Every Spring’ a close second. Where Ray Miland plays a scientist who creates a solution that makes whatever it is applied to allergic to wood. Milland become a baseball pitcher to prove his theory and solution and become a no hitter wonder.

  2. I’ve only seen A League of Their Own and Moneyball out of the ones you’ve listed, but I have recently seen The Sandlot. Now that one made me smile. A really good little family film. About baseball. Sorta!

  3. It is Bull Durham for me. Love the performances. Field of Dreams runs it close though.

  4. All great films, but as a die-hard Little Leaguer as a child, I went sentimental with the Bad News Bears! 😉

  5. I’m late.. But I liked “Eight Men Out”. This was the movie about the Chicago Black Sox and how they threw the World Series. The Owner Charles Comiskey was a straight cheap skate and treated the players like garbage. The movie also showed the strife amoungst the players. The acting was a tad cheesy but overall it was a good illustration of the scandal.
