Hi, iluv!
I’ve seen the trailer twice and still have the overall feeling that James Mather has taken a couple of Dumpsters full of money for elaborate sets and CGI. Only to throw his budget at a questionable re-make of John Carpenter’s ‘Escape From New York’.
Which is something of a shame. Since I really like and admire Guy Pearce’s work and believe ‘Lock-Out’ is far below his talents. Maybe Peter Stromare will add something new. Have no idea who Maggie Grace is.

Hopefully Mr. Pearce will be able to redeem himself in Prometheus.

Looks kinda silly, but then again, it has Guy Pearce and I love him, so I might give him a chance….on DVD!

Could be some brainless fun and I like Guy Pearce delivering all those snarky, wisecracking lines. I doubt it will be any more than that though.

Astute observation, Castor 🙂

I might rent this one as I like Guy Pearce, but Maggie Grace?? I saw two of her movies and am not impressed w/ her acting.
iluvcinema says
You were not impressed by her turn as a 17 year old in Taken? 🙂

That sounds a bit rubbish if I’m honest but I’m glad to see Guy Pierce doing instead of Jason Statham or someone like that. Guy Pierce always brings a bit of substance and believeability to his roles, loved him in Hurt Locker. I like Sci-fi so I’ll probably give this a go.

Ronan – true, Pearce does have a certain gravitas that a Statham would not have. I also suspect that his tongue is firmly planted in his cheek too.
