Here are a couple of stills for the upcoming Oliver Stone film, Savages.
Three-time Oscar®-winning filmmaker Oliver Stone returns to the screen with the ferocious thriller Savages, featuring the all-star ensemble cast of Taylor Kitsch, Blake Lively, Aaron Johnson, John Travolta, Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Emile Hirsch and Demian Bichir. The film is based on Don Winslow’s best-selling crime novel that was named one of The New York Times’ Top 10 Books of 2010.
Laguna Beach entrepreneurs Ben (Johnson), a peaceful and charitable Buddhist, and his closest friend Chon (Kitsch), a former Navy SEAL and ex-mercenary, run a lucrative, homegrown industry–raising some of the best marijuana ever developed. They also share a one-of-a-kind love with the extraordinary beauty Ophelia (Lively). Life is idyllic in their Southern California town…until the Mexican Baja Cartel decides to move in and demands that the trio partners with them.
Savages will drop in cinemas on July 6, 2012.
This is based on one of the best reads from 2010, Don Winslow’s SAVAGES novel. If Stone gets close to the feel and depth of the source material, it’ll be awesome.

I’m so glad someone mentioned the book! I read the book (and preparing to read it again) and it’s one of the BEST books out there. I’m still really wary of this movie because the casting is iffy at best (specifically Taylor Kitsch). I hope they don’t present this as Blake Lively’s story as it’s not….I’m preparing to be disappointed but I’ll be happy if it’s good.
I don’t get the whole Blake Lively thing. But that is just me, I guess 😉
I don’t either, Iba. But I know that there’s a pair of reason why guys love her 😉

Same here Scott, same here!
The book is actually a VERY quick read. I read it in the span of a few hours. It’s written in poetry style so the 65 chapters are like a paragraph a piece and there’s a LOT of white space.
THAT is good to know!
