5 Things to Look Out For in June

It is that time of month again where I run down the list of five things I am looking forward to in the world of cinema.

Prometheus (of course) June 8th.

Beasts of the Southern Wild: June 27th (limited release).

Brave – fell in love with the trailer; will definitely see this one: June 22nd.

Here are a few titles (sorted by release date) that I think merit your notice.

JUNE 5

Safe House

Curb Your Enthusiasm, Season 8

JUNE 12

Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows

Episodes: The First Season

JUNE 26

The Artist

The Decoy Bride

Women in Danger: 1950s Thrillers will be available exclusively through TCM’s online store at http://shop.tcm.com, beginning June 4.

Photo Still from "The Unguarded Moment"

Teen Idol: Thursdays in June

Troy Donahue and Sandra Dee in "A Summer Place"

TCM Essentials Jr. – 13 films that are ideal for parents to introduce to kids, beginning Sunday, June 3, with 12 Angry Men (1957).

Be on the lookout for my first LAMBcast, in which I will discuss Prometheus.

First Position (June 15-21)

Damsels in Distress (June 22-28)

What are you looking forward to this month?

I’m not sure when Beasts of the Southern Wild is going to be released near me, but that’s the one I’m most looking forward to seeing.

I was bit gutted that I could not see it at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (see previous post).

Looking forward to your first stint with the LAMBcast. I want to see all three of the movies your looking forward to in the theaters and I’m sure I’ll see Moonrise Kingdom this month as well.

Prometheus and Beasts of the Southern Wild easily top my list as well! I’m kinda looking forward to Ted too. Brave, not as much…

Ted looks like it is either something you ‘get’ or not.

Can’t wait for BRAVE! But another one I’ll be watching the following week is Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter! 😀

I’ll be renting ‘Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows’ too, I did enjoy the first one quite a bit.
