Hi, Iluv:
Very good selection of films to choose from.
When it comes to polls, I am sometimes a non conformist and opt for “Other”. As I’ve done here. With John Sayle’s ‘Eight Men Out’ in a nicely detailed period piece about the White Sox scandal of 1919.
With ‘It Happens Every Spring’ a close second. Where Ray Miland plays a scientist who creates a solution that makes whatever it is applied to allergic to wood. Milland become a baseball pitcher to prove his theory and solution and become a no hitter wonder.

For some reason I always forget about that film. Not nice of me I know. Sayles deserves better from me.

I’ve only seen A League of Their Own and Moneyball out of the ones you’ve listed, but I have recently seen The Sandlot. Now that one made me smile. A really good little family film. About baseball. Sorta!

It is Bull Durham for me. Love the performances. Field of Dreams runs it close though.

I do not think I have seen Bull Durham in its entirety!

All great films, but as a die-hard Little Leaguer as a child, I went sentimental with the Bad News Bears! 😉

I’m late.. But I liked “Eight Men Out”. This was the movie about the Chicago Black Sox and how they threw the World Series. The Owner Charles Comiskey was a straight cheap skate and treated the players like garbage. The movie also showed the strife amoungst the players. The acting was a tad cheesy but overall it was a good illustration of the scandal.
