Here’s a brief roundup of some of the stuff that I came to my attention this past weekend (mostly cinema-related but not always). Enjoy!
1) I am pretty hyped for the upcoming Bond flick, Skyfall
(Still don’t know who will win in a fight between he and Aaron Cross:
2) I was right about TDKR – as was proven by my somewhat skeptical brother 🙂
3) Director Danny Boyle has a very furtive imagination indeed (not that it ever was in doubt, really …)!
It’s the Shire!
4) I actually like a lot of Rolling Stones music (the old stuff of course).
5) It’s confirmed, there is an Alamo Drafthouse comin’ to my neck of the woods … yipee!

The Olympics opening was bizarre and brilliant!! Made me proud to be a Brit, for once!

It was rather trippy indeed! LOVED the musical bits. Britain in fine form. Makes me want to head back to the UK this fall!

I still do not like to get into the “was it better than The Dark Knight” debates, I understand how and why folks would do that. It’s only natural. But I will save that debate for another day. I will just say this: the movie delivered, period! It was dark (borderline morbid-which I have no problem with) and emotionally riveting at times (the interactions between Caine (Alfred) and Bale (Wayne) are classical stuff (although a friend of mine named “Coach” proclaims that they are eerily similar to the on-screen interactions between Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in Good Will Hunting (at construction site). But I digress…I loved the film and will likely see it again.

I didnt see much of opening ceremony, I hate musicals 🙂 Skyfall and The Bourne Legacy are shaping up to be decent movies.

The ceremony was definitely a feast for the ears 🙂 Although some of the music played during the montages did get me a bit amped!
