This Weekend’s Releases …

At the time of this writing, there are no RT “Certified Fresh” picks of the films released this weekend. Of the four that I mention, I would say Chimpanzee, Marley and possibly Think Like a Man are safe bets. As you can imagine I do not expect any of these titles to set the weekend box office receipts ablaze – in other words, The Hunger Games will hold tight in top position.

As for my personal cinema-viewing, I will be swamped with the various events surrounding the TFF; I hope to update my goings-on with frequent photos and tweets. It all kicks off tomorrow with a few films followed by an evening screening (not TFF-related) of repertory cinema (Annie Hall). The evening is billed as a “date night” event, but alas, I go alone 🙁

So what are you all up to this weekend? Whatever it is, may I wish you happy viewing!

Weekend Releases

Happy Friday the 13th Everyone!

After a rather lazy Easter holiday weekend, I am getting back into the cinema-going saddle. I really hope this is the weekend I will catch Damsels in Distress, and/or The Decoy Bride (currently available on demand).

I will also be working on my Tribeca Film Festival “plan of action.”

Well here are the releases for the upcoming week; let’s start with some of Rotten Tomatoes’ ‘Certified Fresh’ films (hint: The Three Stooges is not one of them).

Also in limited release is the Luc Besson film The Lady starring Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis which tells the story of Aung San Suu Kyi, the woman at the heart of the Burmese fight for democracy.

What Will YOU Watch This Weekend?

Happy Friday everyone! Being as this is Easter weekend, the offering of films seems a bit thin. But I am sure The Hunger Games and other films released in previous weeks will still hold strong. Of this weekend’s contenders for the box office crown, the best shot may just be the 3D re-issue of Titanic.

But according to the predictions of Box Office Mojo it looks like American Reunion can give all the films out there a run for their money.

As for me, I would like to see Damsels in Distress but I think this will be a home viewing weekend for me.

How about you? Let me know what your weekend movie-going plans are (or are not) in the comments below.
